How to Search Park County Court Records

The fastest starting point for Park County court records is the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search. Select the 11th Judicial District, Park County, or Park Combined Court, then use a date range plus another filter. The state docket page says at least one filter in addition to date is required. Dockets are free and useful for hearing dates, courtrooms, event types, and party or case identifiers when those fields appear.

The docket is not a full case file. To request pleadings, orders, tickets, probate papers, a Register of Action, or certified documents, use the Colorado Judicial record/document request form. For local questions, Park County Combined Court receives case and records questions by phone, fax, email, and in person. The Clerk of Court handles court files. The Park County Clerk and Recorder handles recorded instruments, marriage records, motor vehicle work, elections, and county recording services.

Types of Park County Court Records

Park County court records come from a combined state trial-court location in Fairplay. District Court and County Court work from the same Park County Combined Court address, but they do not hear the same cases. District Court is the general-jurisdiction court for felony criminal cases, civil cases in any amount, domestic relations, juvenile, probate, mental health, and appeals from county court. County Court hears misdemeanors, traffic infractions, felony complaints before transfer, small claims, protection orders, and civil cases under $25,000.

Fairplay Municipal Court is separate. Some town ordinance, parking, animal, municipal traffic, and photo radar matters belong there, so the citation controls where the record is kept. Federal cases, bankruptcy cases, and federal appeals are outside Park County Combined Court and are searched through PACER, CM/ECF, or the appropriate federal court.

What Park County Court Records Show

Public Access for Park County Court Records

Colorado public access law affects Park County court records, but court records are not handled the same way as county department files. Restricted Park County Court Records

Some Park County court records are sealed, confidential, or redacted. Juvenile delinquency and dependency records have limited access. Sealed criminal records are hidden from public search, though courts, law enforcement, prosecutors, and certain agencies may keep access. Adoption records are generally confidential. Mental health proceedings are restricted because they involve medical and privacy concerns. Domestic and family files may have public decree material while protecting parenting, support, juvenile, address, or victim information.

Adult Colorado criminal sealing is usually handled in the court where the case was filed. Research for Park County cites C.R.S. 24-72-705 and 24-72-706, with Colorado Judicial sealing materials describing simplified sealing for some non-conviction records and different limits for conviction records. The practical term for most adult Colorado relief is sealing, not expungement. After a record is sealed, public court searches should not display it to ordinary users, but authorized criminal justice users may still see it.

Park County Court Records In Person

Park County Combined Court is the in-person contact for District Court and County Court case records. The court address is 300 4th St., P.O. Box 190, Fairplay, CO 80440. The Colorado Judicial Branch lists hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except state holidays. A Park County news item states that the Park Combined Court Clerk office hours changed effective July 1, 2026 to Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the office remaining open during lunch.

Bring the case number if possible. If not, bring full party names, date of birth if known, approximate filing date, citation number, hearing date, or other identifiers. Old, off-site, sealed, or redacted files may take longer and may involve a name search, research fee, redaction review, or actual off-site retrieval cost.

Transcript requests may be sent by email, fax, mail, or the Colorado Judicial transcript form. If a release of information is needed, the Park County court page cites CJD 05-01 Addendum E and instructs users to send the completed release to the Park County Clerk email address.
